Models on sale in India
Lexus that entered the Indian car market in 2017. It offers, to the Indian market, three crossovers and two sedans with some sporty models expected to come in a later date. The sedan models are the LS and ES models. The former is a mid-level sedan meant to take on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and the BMW 5 Series. The LS on the other hand is a full-size sedan meant to take on cars like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XJ L and the Audi A8L. The crossover range comprises the entry-level NX as well as the more expensive RX crossover. These are the new age Lexus models and slot in below their equivalent SUV models.
The biggest car that Lexus sells in India is the NX SUV which is basically an extra-luxury version of the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 which incidentally is also the largest car that Toyota sells in India. It is the only diesel powered model sold by the Japanese automaker in the Indian car market.
Production of cars
All Lexus models sold in India are brought in via the CBU (Completely Built Ùnit) and manufactured at Lexus’ main plant in Japan.
